I’m Jenny Almén, an illustrator, designer, and artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. I create illustrations that help people understand, connect, and engage through visual storytelling.
For more than 20 years, I’ve collaborated with publishers, government agencies, healthcare organisations, magazines, and businesses to create illustrations that communicate ideas with clarity, warmth, and personality. My clients include Bonnier, Brottsoffermyndigheten, Region Stockholm, Natur & Kultur, Nike, Linum, and many others.
My work spans editorial illustration, healthcare communication, public sector projects, branding, packaging, portraits, and original artwork. Whether illustrating sensitive social issues, developing a visual identity, or creating expressive portraits, I enjoy transforming complex ideas into engaging and accessible imagery.
Working with watercolour, ink, collage, and digital techniques, I combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary visual communication. My illustrations are characterised by a human perspective, expressive storytelling, and close collaboration with each client to create artwork tailored to every project.
Alongside commissioned work, I create original paintings, exhibit my artwork, and collaborate with brands and designers on creative projects that bridge illustration, fine art, and design.
I also teach watercolour workshops, introducing participants to the fundamentals of watercolour painting while exploring botanical subjects and developing confidence through creative practice. Watercolour workshops are held throughout the year. Keep an eye out for new course dates.
