I have always been fascinated by what makes a portrait recognisable. The differences are marginal — subtle shifts in the angle of a line, the placement of a feature — yet they are everything.
Portraits
My aim is to capture a person’s character and defining qualities with as few lines as possible. Colour is added with old, dry ink markers that cause the pigment to fade and bleed softly, creating light, shadow, and a sense of texture — particularly in hair. Some areas are coloured digitally in Photoshop, allowing me to adjust tones and test combinations without redrawing.
Realistic Paintings
Here I work more directly with colour and light from the start, building up form and likeness layer by layer to capture a fuller depth of character and realism.
100 Days of Flowers
A personal challenge born from the desire to grow: for 100 days, I painted one flower a day in liquid ink and watercolor. No two are alike — some bold and saturated, others soft and fleeting, each one a small study in color, form, and the endless variety found in nature.
What began as a discipline became a daily meditation, pushing my technique further with every bloom. The result is a vibrant collection of original watercolor paintings, each capturing a flower’s fleeting beauty in a single sitting.
